Prices are from each company's own site, checked October 1, 2026. “6 weeks” assumes two monthly billing cycles for monthly plans.

Monthly plans cost more than they look

A monthly price assumes you finish on schedule. TEAS timelines slip: an application deadline moves, a section needs a second pass, or a retake lands a month later. Every slip is another billing cycle, and the subscription keeps charging until you remember to cancel. A one-time price does not move when your test date does.

The cost nobody counts: your first semester

Most TEAS prep ends at the test. Then nursing school starts, and first semester brings fundamentals, pharmacology, and dosage calculation, so students go shopping for a second tool.

NurseSavvy's $29 TEAS package includes your first semester of nursing school prep free: 4 months of NurseSavvy Premium, a $49 value. It waits in your account until your classes begin, and you can start it any time within 3 years. It is study access, not tuition. Your TEAS progress stays in the same account.

The cheapest plan that still works: $0

  1. Take a free full-length TEAS practice test before you study. An honest baseline shows which section to start with.
  2. Study your weakest section first. A free account includes 30 practice questions and 50 learning cards to start, then 5 questions, 10 cards, and 3 cheat sheets every day.
  3. Take ATI's free 60-question practice test once, as a format check.
  4. Retake the full-length test as often as you like. NurseSavvy practice tests are free and unlimited, and every question is explained after you finish.

The full free stack, resource by resource, is in the best free TEAS prep.

When paying is worth it

Pay for the $29 package when the daily limits are slowing you down, or when you want your first nursing semester covered before it starts. One honest caveat: only ATI writes official TEAS questions, and no third-party score, ours included, is an official ATI score. If you want official calibration in the final weeks, ATI's paid practice assessments are the one purchase that adds something no other option can.

Common questions

What is the cheapest TEAS prep?

Free. NurseSavvy TEAS practice tests are free and unlimited, ATI offers a free 60-question practice test, and Khan Academy covers the foundations. The cheapest full paid option is NurseSavvy’s $29 one-time package, with no monthly bill.

Is $29 TEAS prep worth it?

It is worth it when the free daily limits slow you down. The $29 package unlocks every TEAS lesson, practice question, and vocab word, and it includes 4 months of NurseSavvy Premium for your first nursing semester, a $49 value.

Do I have to pay for TEAS practice tests?

No. NurseSavvy full-length and timed section practice tests are free and unlimited, with every question explained after you finish. Only ATI’s official practice assessments, which are the one source of official calibration, require a purchase.

What does “first semester free” mean?

It is 4 months of NurseSavvy Premium study access, saved in your account until your nursing classes begin and redeemable any time within 3 years. It is not tuition.

Are monthly TEAS courses cheaper?

Only if you finish inside one billing cycle. Most students prep for four to eight weeks, so a $29.99 monthly plan usually costs about $60, and a $79.99 monthly plan about $160, before any retake.
