How the coach works

TEAS English questions test one rule at a time: agreement, a comma, a confused word, a clearer sentence, a word part. Pick the answer, check it, and see the rule.

Or press "Walk me through it" and Lin, the TEAS English tutor, names the rule being tested, breaks big words into their parts, and builds to the answer one small question at a time.

  • Questions are written ahead of time, not generated: grammar and punctuation (agreement, tense, commas, semicolons, apostrophes, run-ons, modifiers), clarity and style (concise wording, tone, transitions, sentence order), and vocabulary (context clues and the prefixes, roots, and suffixes nursing words are built from). Next serves the next question from the type you picked, without repeats until the set runs out.
  • Pick an answer and press Check. A wrong pick gets one more try before the answer and its reason appear.
  • "Walk me through it" opens a short scripted conversation with your tutor: each step is one small multiple-choice question, and the last one is the question itself. Miss a step twice and the tutor shows it and moves on.
  • Pick your tutor from the TEAS team: Lin (English), Nora (Reading), David (Science), and Furaha (Math). Every tutor asks the same questions in their own voice; the walk-through is scripted, not an AI chat.
