Podcasts and cheat sheets are never metered. Practice questions and learning-flow cards have separate free starter packs and daily allowances, so using one never spends the other.

How the calculator adds up a free semester

  • The three metered modes are practice questions, learning-flow cards, and games. Each has a starter pack with no daily limit until it is spent, then a daily allowance. The calculator reads those limits from the same constants the app enforces, so the table always shows the current numbers rather than ones typed into a page.
  • For each mode the semester figure is the starter pack plus the daily allowance multiplied by your study days. Study days are the slider value, from 1 to 7 days a week with a default of 5, times a fixed 16-week semester. The semester length is not editable.
  • The result is marked with an approximately sign on purpose. It assumes you use the full daily allowance on every day you study, and it counts only the days you chose, so days you skip add nothing. It shows what is available, not a prediction of what you will do.
  • CAT readiness exams get their own row because they are never metered and sit outside the daily allowance. The note under the table lists what else is never metered: podcasts, narrated videos, cheat sheets, the Learning Center, the simulators, the speed check, and review of past work. The daily allowance resets at your local midnight.
  • The daily-plan builder offers 15, 30, and 60-minute loops with three, four, and five steps, and defaults to 30 minutes. The steps are fixed text built around the cheat sheet, podcast, learning flow, and practice questions. The topic you type only labels the plan; it does not change the steps.
  • Neither tool needs an account, and nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere. Reloading resets both. They describe the free plan; they do not change your account or track your real usage.

The reasoning behind it

Questions people ask

Is the NurseSavvy free plan a trial?
No. The calculator’s own note says no card and no expiry. Three teaching modes have a starter pack and then a daily allowance, and everything in the never-metered list stays free without a daily cap.
What happens when I use up the daily allowance?
That mode waits until your local midnight, when the daily allowance resets. The three meters are independent, so finishing the day’s questions does not lock the cards or the games, and reviewing work you have already completed does not spend any allowance.
Are the full-length CAT readiness exams counted against the limit?
No. The calculator lists them as never metered and unlimited, outside the daily allowance for practice questions.
Why does the calculator use a 16-week semester?
It is a fixed assumption built into the tool so the three totals are comparable. If your term is shorter or longer, the real total scales with the number of days you actually study.
What does paying change?
A paid plan removes the daily limits on practice questions, learning flows, and games. Everything on the never-metered list stays free either way.
